This tea variety is named after the ancient Indian province of Assam, which has been one of the largest black tea plantations in the world since the 19th century.

Assam tea leaves are quite large and have a dark shade that can vary from burgundy to red with a black tint. When brewed, assam leaf tea produces an amber-colored infusion with a bright aroma, in which honey and nutty notes are heard. Assam tea is harvested twice a year; the summer harvest is considered elite and expensive due to the large and juicy leaves. The taste of tea can be influenced by its growing environment, for example, in the state of Upper Assam, where the climate is hot, tea leaves quickly absorb juice, and when brewed, they reveal all shades of taste to the maximum.

How to brew Assam black tea
This tea has a strong and rich taste, the drink is invigorating and has a pleasant malty aftertaste. For tea to reveal its taste and aroma, it is important to brew it correctly. The best containers to use are a glass or clay teapot. First, the kettle is doused with boiling water, so the required amount of tea leaves is placed and water is poured at a temperature of no more than 65 degrees.
The tea will take 5 minutes to steep. At this time, it is better to cover the kettle with a napkin or towel. There is no need to steep the tea longer, otherwise the drink may become bitter. The presence of foam on the surface indicates that the tea has been brewed correctly; there is no need to remove it, as it contains many essential oils and beneficial substances.

Beneficial properties of Assam black tea
In addition to its excellent taste, Assam black tea has beneficial properties:
serves as a prevention of Parkinson’s disease – due to the presence of a large amount of caffeine, it activates brain activity;
protects blood vessels – tea leaves contain flavonoids, which strengthen vascular walls and can be used to prevent strokes and heart attacks;
Assam tea activates metabolism and promotes complete digestion of food, improves fat burning and helps with weight loss;
Due to the high concentration of phenols, tea has a powerful antioxidant effect and protects the body from oxidative processes that can lead to the formation of tumors.
Assam is consumed without additives to not interrupt the pleasant taste and aroma, but if desired, you can add milk, cream or mint. Instead of sugar, it is better to drink tea with dried fruits or honey.
